The Team Making Homesharing Work

From founding leadership to regional consultants, every member of THE HomeShare team brings deep expertise and genuine passion for social care, housing, and community.

Lucie Cunningham
Lucie Cunningham
Founder & CEO

Lucie Cunningham is the founder and CEO of THE HomeShare, Ireland's leading Homeshare provider. With over two decades of experience in nursing, healthcare, and homecare across the UK and Ireland, Lucie is deeply committed to supporting older people, and people living with a disability, to live independently at home for longer, while also addressing the housing needs of younger generations.

Lucie began her nursing studies at Middlesex University in London in the 1990s and went on to build a career rooted in care, compassion, and community. After a six-year career break during which she worked as long-haul cabin crew with British Airways, Lucie returned to healthcare with enhanced communication and customer service skills that continue to shape her work today.

In 2017, driven by her passion for community care, mental health, and social innovation, Lucie launched THE HomeShare. Under her leadership, the organisation has grown significantly and played a key role in having Homeshare recognised in Irish government policy — a global first.

Lucie also serves on the board of Homeshare International, where she contributes to the global development of Homeshare programmes. She remains a passionate advocate for social enterprise and for creating practical, sustainable solutions to real-world challenges.

Her studies in Community and Social Care, followed by Applied Social Studies, ignited her passion for Social Care, with a special focus on the elderly and adults with intellectual disabilities.

For several years now, Antoinette has dedicated herself to working in various day service settings for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Her exceptional people skills and unwavering professionalism set a high standard. Antoinette firmly believes that building trust within services and providing support for the elderly and vulnerable individuals is absolutely crucial. Her commitment to advocacy ensures that the voices of vulnerable and older individuals are always heard.
